Narrative
Between 1738 and 1740 this family moved from Duxbury to Northyarmouth ME and remained in that state for the rest of theirlives.Barnabas bought his brother's, Cornelius, homestead in NorthYarmouth, ME in 1745, and made that his place of residence everafterwards. He married about 1737, Jane Bradbury, the posthumousdaughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Stockman) Bradbury ofSalisbury, MA. She was the younger sister of Dorothy, the wifeof Rev. Ammi Ruhama Cutter. Barnabas and wife were received asmember of the First Church August 30, 1742, by publicprofession and September following, he brought his two sons toreceive the sacred ordinance. The home of this family became anoted place, being situated upon a lofty elevation overlookingCousins River and the glimmering waters of Casco Bay. Mr.Soule died April 8, 1780, aged 75 years and was buried in theOld Cemetary near his home. About 1737 when Barnabas was 31, hemarried Jane Bradbury, in prob Salisbury, MA. Born on 4 Aug 1718in Salisbury, Essex, MA. Jane died in North Yarmouth,Cumberland, ME on 18 Apr 1761, she was 42.
