Narrative
Thomas probably sailed for New England with his wife and fiveshildren on the Castle in 1638, in company with his brotherWilliam on his second voyage. He settled in Scituate where hewas propounded as a freeman on March 5, 1638/9. Widow LydiaHatch married John Spring of Watertown about 1654, but continuedto live in Scituate and apparently satisfied the court, beforewhich she was summonsed to appear in 1659, that she had goodreason for so doing as she was still there in 1665 when she tookoath to the nuncupative will of her son-in-law Jonas Pickles.Thomas died before June 14, 1646, when his widow brought herdaughter Hannah to be baptized. He lived for several years atWye, where two of his children were baptized, and where he waspresented by the church-wardens to the Bishop for teachingschool without a license at every session of court from Nov. 19,1627, to June 9, 1628, when he obtained the necessary document.
