Narrative
Samuel Smith took the oath of fidelity at Eastham 25 Oct 1667.He sued Stephen Merrick for unlawfully taking a horse on 25 Oct1668. The next year he appeared in Plymouth Colony Court toanswer suits against him, Ralph Smith and Daniel Smith by JosiasCooke. Samuel served as constable of Eastham in 1670 and thenext year was sued by Joseph Harding for abuse of his duties inthat position. On 7 July 1682 Thomas Clarke Sr. of Plymouth suedSamuel Smith of Eastham for unjustly detaining profits of a CapeCod fishing venture. On the first Tuesday in Oct 1686 SamuelSmith and john Mayo of Eastham were charged with nettingmackerel at Cape Cod in violation of a court order.
