Narrative
Matthew served as a corporal in the Biddeford 1st Company in1778 (Ref. Soldiers, Sailors and Patriots of the RevolutionaryWar - Maine: Carleton E. Fisher & Sue G. Fisher, compilers).There are several land transactions on file in York Countyrecords; first are several purchases from John and Samuel Davisin 1773 at Biddeford, ME and later several transactions betweenhim and son, Zebediah. He is listed in the 1790, 1800 and 1810Maine censuses but not in the 1820. It is presumed that he diedprior to 1820.
