Narrative
He came to New London, NH with his parents soon after 1780.After his marriage to Phebe Brocklebank, they settled near hisfather, probably at the John Ellis place, lot #108, New London,Sullivan, NH. He was one of the singers, chosen by the town in1788, to assist in the church services. Jonathan and Phebe'sfirst three children, Rebecca, Rapsima, and John, are the firstbirths recorded in the Town of New London's first book of vitalstatistics. About 1789, the family moved to Tunbridge, VT, wheretheir fourth, fifth, and sixth children were born. These threechildren are listed in the Vital Records Book for the Town ofTunbridge.
