Narrative
Robert Pike was born in 1615 and came to the colonies in 1635with his father on the "James." He first settled in Newbury andthen removed to Salisbury. He is listed in the 1642 list offirst settlers of Newbury. He was made freeman on May 17, 1637and was a representative in 1638. He was also a member of thecouncil and a justice of the peace. He married on April 3, 1641,Sarah Sanders, the daughter of John and Alice Coles Sanders, whodied Nov 1, 1679. He married second Martha Moyce. He was one ofthe first to object to the Salem Witch Trials and unsuccessfullydefended Mary Perkins Bradbury at her trial. He died Dec 12,1706.
