Narrative

James was a cordwainer, mariner, farmer, and merchant. He servedas a soldier in the French and Indian War and performed variouspatriotic services for the town of Edgecomb during the AmericanRevolution. He served the town in varying capacities from 1777to 1803. His widow Alice ran a popular tavern at Jewett's Coveon Jeremysquam.
