One of his (Joseph's) sisters died in Weedsport named Mary Barnsand another on LI named Elizabeth Hand" This calls into questionthe death date of Elizabeth (1768-1773). One source states Eliz"died young". Did she live long enough to marry? Anotherindication that Elizabeth (or another unnamed sister) was alivecomes from "Portrait and Biographical Record of Orange Co., NY"p. 513 Chapman Publishing. (Barns/Barnes family). Discussionof Isaac Barns. Before the move from Schoharie Co to Otsego Co.,NY some of the children were sent temporarily to live withrelatives, one child to Joseph Hunting a brother of Mary(Hunting) Barns and one daughter to a sister of Mary's on LI.
