Narrative
John White was the chaplain to Sir William Phipps when governor.After Sir William's death, he was elected for three straightyears one of the representatives of Boston, and he was clerk ofthe House of Representatives for twenty consecutive years.On 15 Nov 1697, he was chosen Fellow of Harvard College and on27 Oct 1713, treasurer of the college. He assumed the role oftreasurer in July 1715 and held that position until his death.John White was one of the 22 proprietors of Leicester, MA, andwas one of the trustees of the Province Loan.
