Richard, b. 1669, m. Jan. 14, 1692, Abigail, dau. of WilliamWarren and his wife, Elizabeth Crow, afterward Mrs. ElizabethWilson. She too, inherited a large property, and together theywere one of the wealthiest couples of that period. Richard Lordwas Treasurer of the Colony at the time of his death, Jan. 29,1712, and the heaviest and costliest monumental table in the oldburial ground is his. Seven of Lord's ten children lived andmarried into prominent families. Asylum Hill was formrly calledLord's hill, as a large portion of it was owned by thedescendants of Elisha Lord, the oldest surviving son of Richardand Abigail. Their son Richard m. Ruth, dau. of Hezekiah Wyllis,Esq., apparently removed to Wethersfield, and d. there ab. 1740.The youngest sons, Epaphras and Ichabod, removed to Colchester.
