Narrative
Vincent Hawes was born (the fourth child to Pearl and WilliamHawes) in Hampden, Maine and moved to Daytona Beach in 1950 fromWoodmont, Connecticut. While living in Connecticut, he workedwith the Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company and Dahill RoofingCompany, both of New Haven. Hewent into the construction business with his brother, Wendell,in Woodmont and they later formed V. & W. Hawes Builders inFlorida. He wasa member of the Ormond Beach Shuffleboard Club. Survivors athis deathincluded his widow, Harriet; three sons, V. Howard, Bunnell,Arthur L.,Ormond Beach, and Raymond H., Apopka; four brothers, Donald,Tampa,Wendell, Daytona Beach, Robert and Orville, both of Connecticut;asister, Evelyn Gross, Port Orange; eight grandchildren and threegreatgrandchildren. Woodward, Holly Hill was in charge of hisfuneral.
