Lieut. Daniel Soule (1), eldest son of Ephraim (1) and Rebecca(Whitman) Soule, was born in Plympton, Mass., Nov. 16, 1757; wasmarried by Rev. Ezra Sampson of said town May 1, 1783 to SARAHCUSHMAN, daughter of [[Page 535]] Josiah and (???) Cushman, bornNov. 29, 1759; died June 8, 1814, aged 54-6-9. In 1818 Danielmarried 2d, MRS. LUCY WATERMAN, widow of Isaac Waterman ofHalifax, Mass., and daughter of Joseph Sampson, born March 6,1761. This Daniel Soule held a commission in the Revolution andhis record of service is extant. He enlisted Nov. 5, 1775 andserved two months as private under Captain Churchill, ColonelCotton's Reg't., Mass. Troops, stationed at Roxbury, Mass. Heenlisted in Feb. 1776, for three months under Capt. James Harlow, Col. Cotton's Reg't. at Roxbury, Mass. He enlisted inJuly, 1776, under Capt. James Harlow, Col. Cotton's Reg't. Marched to NewHaven, Conn., went from thence by water to New York and up theNorth River. Was at White Plains when the British Light Horsecame there. In service five weeks. Afterwards served five monthsat Cambridge under Capt. Ebenezer Washburn in Col. Brooks'Reg't. In the fall of 1780, served three months in Capt. JerrySturtevant's company, Col. Jacob's Reg't., stationed at Batt'sHill and Bristol Ferry, R. I.
