Muddy Brook Bridge Joseph Griggs was a freeman on 18 May 1653 and he was admitted to the church at Roxbury on 20 Jun of the same year. He was elected selectman numerous times and was a member of the General Court in 1681. He played a vital role in securing the town of New Roxbury (Woodstock). In a deposition given to the court dated 21 Jan 1709, Joseph Griggs stated that he was about 85 years old and that he settled at Muddy river about 1649. |
