Narrative
Capt. Ebenezer Hill had a shipyard on Division Point.Captain Ebenezer Hill [1782-1828] son of Hezekiah and EuniceCollins Hill of Cousins Island. He married Lucy Hamilton in1802. She was the daughter of Ambrose and Deborah SouleHamilton. Here is a man with a colorful story. He was ashipbuilder, master of several vessels, had a salt quarry, abrickyard, son of a Boston Tea Party 'pourer', a prisoner ofwar himself in the War of 1812, and buried in TrinityChurchyard, City of New York. No history of Chebeague or CascoBay ever misses him. He lived at Division Point-east side, andhis wife's share of the original Hamilton homestead gave themthe other side of the Point. He built his house there in 1804.
