Edward Weymouth - Was a tailor by trade and they were both living in 1710. Was taxed in Dover, NH1662.
Had grant of land in Kittery, ME in 1671. Bought land in what is now the northern part of Eliot, 1671. His house was burned by the Indians in 1677.
Was active in persecuting the Quakers. The following was taken from Sewel's History of the Quakers; I, 566. "then one Edward Weymouth took Mary [Tomkins] by her arm and dragged her on her back over the stumps of trees down a very steep hill, by which she was much bruised and often died away. "In 1669 Edward Weymouth was called into court "for cursing and swearing and wicked wishes to his wife. "References: History of Wells and Kennebunk, p. 159. New England History of Genealogy Reg.
