Narrative
See Saints and StrangersOf the three Snows who married into Mayflower families, Anthonycame over the latest, being first recorded on 7 May 1638 when herequested three acres of land from the court. On 9 November 1639he married Abigail Warren, daughter of Mayflower passengerRichard Warren. He served on the grand jury and in other publiccapacities. He moved to Marshfield, and later, on 5 June 1651,he became a freeman. He served as a constable for Marshfield andas a Marshfield deputy. He died in August 1692, having made hiswill 28 December 1685, codicil 8 August 1692, and in it he namedhis wife Abigail; his son Josias Snow; his daughters Lydia,Sarah, and Alice; his grandson James Ford; his daughterAbigail's children; his grandaughters Hannah and Abigail Ford;his son Josias's wife; and his brother Joseph Warren was to beone of his overseers. His daughter Abigail had married MichaelFord. Anthony also had a son who died young. As is shown by adeed from Thomas Church to Anthony Snow and Richard Church, Snowwas a feltmaker by trade.9/19 January, 1639/40, Mrs. Warren conveyed her house and eightacres of land near Wellingsly or Hobs Hole to Anthony Snow,husband of her daughter Abigail.Anthony Snow died in Marshfield between 8 and 31 August 1692. Heis in the 1643 list of Plymouth men able to bear arms. The willof Anthony Snow of Marshfield dated 28 Dec 1685, codicil dated 8Aug 1692, sworn 3 Jan 1692/3, names wife Abigail; grandson JamesFord; son Josias Snow; daughters Lydia, Sarah and Alis (nosurnames); dau. Abigall's children; "daughter in law my sonJosias wife"; grandchildren Jams, Hanah and Abigall Ford;brother Joseph Warren and friend Capt. Nathaniel Thomas to beoverseers. On 3 Jan 1692/3 Abigal Snow, widow of Anthony Snow,swore to the inventory. The inventory was dated 12 Nov 1692.
