Narrative
Joshua built his homestead near Pleasant Point on land conveyedto him 6 Aug, 1750 by his brother, Joseph. He also purchasedseveral lots in the new town of Naraganset No.1, owning overfive percent of the town by 1752. He was a prominent citizen andquite active in the civic affairs of the city.Joshua was a Sargent in 1757 and Lieutenant in 1761 in the townMilitia commanded by his brother, Captain Joseph Woodman. Heserved in Captain Lane's Company in the Revolutionary War.
