Narrative
John was not named in his father's will, but was living atFalmouth, Maine in 1724/1725, when his father deeded land to himat Stow and Rutland, as noted above. He was granted a house lotat Falmouth on 1 April 1724 and later received one acre of landnear Lt. Pike's lot on 3 August 1727 and 30 acres on 23 March1727/1728 near Sandy Point on the north side of the "Persumscot"River runing "east south east to the Bay." He may be the JohnRobbins who was paid £21 17s 8d for working on the Saco RiverBlock-House in 1730. This is when workmen from Falmouth andother nearby towns were employed by Capt. Thomas Smith (fatherof Rev. Thomas Smith, the first minister at Falmouth) to buildand repair the fort.
