Documentation (largely from Chase/Chamberlain, who I believe aregenerally regarded as the most competent chroniclers of theChase line) does exist for the following:Aquila Chase, bp 1580, in Chesham Eng., parents Richard Chaseand Joan Bishop. There is no further record of this Aquila inChesham, but an Aquila does show up in Parish records in London(not far from Chesham) with an entry of marriage to MarthaJelliman on 22 Jun 1606. (The name is first recorded as"Chaste", but subsequent entries for the family are for "Chase")The Chase/Chamberlain genealogy takes the position that theChesham Aquila (b.1580) is most likely this Aquila, because ofboth the unusual name and the geographical proximity. They hada number of children whose baptisms are recorded. Among themwas a son Aquila who was bp. 9 April 1626, and whose burialthere is also recorded in the year 1659/60. There is no recordof a son Thomas born to them. The father Aquila's burial is alsorecorded there in 1643.
