The surname Wakefield has not been proven, and in fact there isno mention of any early female named Patience in the Wakefieldgenealogy by Homer Wakefield ( - 1897). We believe the basis forthis Wakefield connection arises from the fact that MaryLittlefield, a sister of John-2, married John Wakefield. Thein-law relationship has caused some confusion.
