Narrative
Samuel became deacon of the church in Eastham, 1676. He wasrep. 1697. A man of pecuniary resources and of financialability, he was of service to the town in time of peculiarstraits. Of how large a portion of Prence estate he becamepurchaser, we an not informed, except the one purchase to whichwe have already referred in a previous page. Gov P.s landedproperty was valuable, comprising many acres of the best landsin Eastham and adjoining towns. Mr. Freeman died Nov. 25,1712, age 75. Mr. Freeman's wife, Mercy Southworth, whom he m.May 12, 1658, was daughter of Constant Southworth, who was sometime assistant in the Plymouth Colony.
