The following exerpts are from "A History of Simcoe County" byAndrew F. Hunter, pg 69, after a series of paragraphs about hisbrother David: "James, his brother and companion in those years,brought his family from Thornhill in 1824. He was frozen todeath near Hammond's Point, in the fall of 1839. His house wasthe second frame house in Innisfil.1819, Signed an oath of allegiance to the crown at York(Toronto). 28 July 1819, Order of Council, grant of Crown lands.1823, Purchased Con. 13, Lot 26, Innisfil Twp with brother Davidnear Kempenfeldt Bay. 1824, Brought family from Thornhill toInnisfil Township, Simcoe County. Frozen to death near Hammond'sPoint, Simcoe Co.
