Nicholas Thorndike of Greenfield in Aby, Lincolnshire, yeoman,was buried at Aby 11 June 1596. According to Canon Maddison'spedigree of the Thorndike family of Greenfield, NicholasThorndike married Frances (or Margaret) Southrey or Sotheby. Itis possible that Margaret (Southrey or Sotheby) Thorndike wasNicholas's first wife, and that Frances (____) Blanchard, whobrought him "her owne goodes," was his second wife.Nicholas Thorndike of Greenfield was named as the brother-in-lawof John Fyshwick of East Saltfleetby, Lincolnshire, yeoman, in1572. He was one of the supervisors of the will of NicholasThorndicke of Great Carlton, Lincolnshire, in 1580, and the solesupervisor of the will of John Thorndike of Little Carlton in1591.
