In 1810 they moved from Westerlo, New York to Tapleytown,Saltfleet, Ontario where he received a Crown Grant of landcomprising several hundred acres of territory from which heretrieved his farm and upon which he built his home. Whilehewing down the forest he was killed by a falling tree.From their holdings these Soules cleared productive fields andwere prosperous stock breeders and fruit growers. They were apeople who appreciated the advantages of education and gavetheir children the best opportunities afforded in the communityto become fitted for the activities and responsibilities oflife. Invested with fine natural ability and their mindsdisciplined and polished by the culture of the schools, thesesons and daughters were equipped to meet the conquests andenrich themselves with the achievements of success. The moralatmosphere of their home was exalted and refining and impartedcharacter and efficiency to their subsequent examples. As afamily they have held a respectable position in the communitywhere their lot was cast and their names have been a synonym ofinegrity and veracity.
