Narrative

Lydia went to work in Lowell, Mass cotton mills, where shemarried William Peters, part owner of Pelham, N.H. woolen mill,where they went to live. The marriage intention was filed withGuilford town clerk Dec. 19, 1840. Peteres died and Lydiareturned to Lowell. After a year or so as a weaverroom overseer,she went to Foxcroft and married Cal Mitchell, farmer, wherethey lived until Mitchell died. She removed to Dover and died onher 76th birthday. No children by either marriage.
