Narrative
r15 It is noted that ere are two Jeremiah Haskell's in thisarea. One, son of Squire m. Hannah Nichols in Thompson, CT,migrated to Hinsdale, thence to Genesee Co NY with a family ofat least ten children, whose births are recorded. The secondJeremiah, son of John, m. Hannah Newell in Dudley, just over thestate line in Mass. with a family of nine children, all of whosebirths are recorded. Further a monument was raised at LeRoy NYin memory of Jeremiah Haskell and Hannah Nichols by theiryoungest son which is explicit in identifying Hannah. The secondJeremiah is not a descendant of Patience Soule Haskell. Hence, vol 6:716-7 of Bowen's Woodstock Fam is in error. JeremiahHaskell served in the American Revolution.
