Jess Payne Sheldon, Iowa - Special: Funeral services for JessPayne, 63 a former Sheldon resident, will be at 2 P. M.Wednesday at the Lampe-Gaudian Funeral Home. The Rev E. Pencookwill officiate and burial wil be in the East Lawn Cemetery. MrPayne died Saturday after being stricken by a heart attack inDes Moines. He operated the Gamble Store in Sheldon from 1958until 1963, then operated the Gamble Store in Ida Grove, Iowafor three years before moving to Des Moines last September. Hewas born in June, 1904, at Slayton, Minn. He drove a bulkgasoline truck for 24 years at Seward, Neb., before coming toSheldon. He married Nine Bell May 24, 1930, at Watertown, SD.Survivors include the widow; a son, Kenneth of Primghar, Iowa; adaughter, Mrs. Dan Switzer of Kingsport, Tenn.; sixgrandchildren; four brothers, Frank of Shenandoah, Iowa; Haroldof Pierre, SD Everett of Des Moines, and Bernard of Cheyenne,Wyo., and a sister, Mrs. Violet White of Spencer, Iowa.
