BIRT SOUR Ruth's handwritten notes say she was born in SciotaTownship, Delaware Co., OHRuth Irene Crawford McNamee was born June 25, 1897 at BroadwayCorners in Union Co., Ohio and departed this life November 14,1974 at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware, Ohio at the age of 77years. She was the daughter of Elbert C. and Minnie ShearerCrawford. She grew up in Warrensburg, Ohio and spent most ofher life in Delaware County, except for four years when herfamily lived in Modesto, California when Ruth was a child. OnJuly 6, 1918 she was united in marriage to Walter E. McNamee inthe Old Stone Church near Warrensburg. To this union were born4 daughters and a son. She was a member of Grace United Churchfor over 40 years where she ser- ved as a Sunday School Teacherand was also past president of the Nellie Ensley Circle ofUnited Methodist Women. For 25 years she served as treasurer ofthe W.S.C.S. She was a member of the Warrensburg Rebecka Lodgefor over 50 years, a member of the Senior Citizens Club Delawareand held many offices in the Amaryllis Club. Ruth was an activemember of the Smith Lawton Post 1749 World War I VeteransOrganization Auxiliary of Delaware. She is survived by 3daughters: Irene (Mrs. James Baker) Columbus, Ohio; Pauline(Mrs. Gerald Koster) Baudette, Minnesota: Justine (Mrs KennethKnight) Delaware, Ohio. One son Walter C. of Hillcrest Heights,Maryland; 17 grand- children and 8 great grandchildren andseveral nephews and nieces. She was preceeded in death by herhusband Walter E. Oct. 30, 1974, one daughter, Dorothy and herparents Elbert and Minnie Crawford and one sister, FlorenceBreece. Interment was in Newhouse Cemetery.Social Security # 273-62-3376.
