!Obituary: Resident here 40 years passes away - David Frenchdied this morning at 8 o'clock the county farm. During the lastthree years he had been at hospitals four times and had overhalf a dozen operations for ulcers of the stomach whichdeveloped into cancer. He was taken to county farm February 20and had been in bed since. He was born in Iowa 53 years ago andcame to Union county with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs.Henry French about 40 years ago. He farmed, threshed forfarmers and graded roads south of town for many years. He wasindustrious, honest in all his dealings and had friends.Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Trudeau of Elk Pointand Mrs. M. J. Kellar of Crawford, Neb. five brothers, Ed of ElkPoint, Sylvester and George of Hot Springs, James of Lake City,Iowa and Robert of Snowhomish, Wash., and an aunt, Mrs FloraFrench of Wagner.
