Narrative
1849, Moved to Plymouth; 1861, Enlisted in the Third Mass.Infantry Minute Men for 3 months, then the First BattalionInfantry and then Company. Was at the battle of Big Bethel andwounded at Hampton, Va, shot through the hand. Saved from theGeneral Hygiene hospital, where he was uncared for by hisCaptain. Brought home and was operated on and returned to hisRegiment.
