Thomas Goodwin was born in Kittery, Maine about 1660. He was the son of Daniel Goodwin and Margaret Spencer.
Thomas Goodwin and Mehitable Plaisted married about 1685 in Maine; daughter of Lieut. Roger Plaisted (son of Ichabod Plaisted).
About 1690, Mehitable was carried as a captive by Indians to Canada and held for five years. Thomas Goodwin eventually ransomed her from captivity and they had children after her return. She administered his estate in 1714 and was living in 1740. [1]

Thomas Goodwin died on 26 March 1714 in Kittery, Maine and is buried in Old Fields Cemetery, South Berwick, Maine. [2]
