Narrative

John stayed on his father's farm and built another house in1699. In 1743 John deeded one of the buildings to his son Jonaswho married Mary Heald.Conflicting record - some records have stated that he was bornon 1 Aug 1673 in Concord, Middlesex, MA.Note that the John was named in his father's will, but his birthis not recorded in the Vital Records. His mother's death on 24September 1672 possibly occurred following childbirth.Sgt. John Robbins and his family remained on his parents'homestead farm. He deeded some buildings and lands 16 September1743 to his son, Jonas, including "lands by Barrets great Dan inChelmsford ... near great Brook ... by lands of Joseph Whitney,Peter Proctor, John Swallow ... east of Concord highway ... halfGeorge's meadow in Billerica, half Virginia meadow in Billerica... near great Swamp whose bounds appear in Billerica Townrecords or by Deeds under my Care ... I am the true sole properand lawful owner ..." Reference was made to some of the landJohn had received from the estate of his father, George Robbins.Sgt. John Robbins in his will, dated 13 March 1753 and proved 25July 1763, witnessed by Thomas Spaulding, John Barrett, andDaniel Proctor, appointed his son [Ens.] Jonas Robbins asexecutor. He named his wife Dorothy, eldest son John, thechildren of Elizabeth Fletcher deceased, Eleanor Heald, thechildren of Lucy Farmer deceased, and Mercy Heald.
