From The Probate Records of Essex County, vol. 1, 1635-1664 (1916), pp 244-245:ESTATE OF FRANCIS PARRAT OF ROWLEYI ffrancis Parrat of Rowley intending to take a Journey toEngland desire as sensible of the frailty of this mortall lifeto set my house in order & doe therfore constitute and appointhis as my last will and testament in maner & forme asfolloweth. Imps I give & bequeath my soule to God that gave it& my body to be interred as the wise hand of God sees meetewhether by sea or land in comfortable hopes of a happyresurrection at that day. Item my will is that my debts befirst payd Item I give to my Loveing wife Elizabeth Parrat onehundred pounds to take it wher shee pleases in land goods &Cattle I also give to her my house and house lott for her lifeand after her death my will is that it shall be equally dividedamonge my Children.
