The Mud House; This dwelling, known by the title of "the mud house," along with 139 acres, was discovered about 1847 when the land surrounding it was resurveyed. It appears to have been missed by the earlier survey of 1687. The house is described as :a large house, with adobe, or unburnt brick walls." The site was referred to in the earlier survey as "the old weaver's hill," and the old weaver was later identified as John Ewan. Later speculation |
