On April 11, 1917, Emile crossed the border into Montana withhis family. Emile's card contained the following information: Hehad never been to the U.S. before. His passage was paid by hismother. He was 17. He spoke only French at that time and taughthimself English. Initially, Don worked for Joe Moore Theatresrunning the projector. After the boys were born, the familymoved to East Helena, Montana in 1946. Emil owned and operator the Don Theatre there. They returned to Havre in 1947. Donentered into a partnership with Clarence Golder of Great Falls,and he ran the Havre Theatre and Sunset Drive In until hisdeath. The business was later purchased by Joe Baker. He wasmarried to Helen Estelle Halverson on 20 Apr 1930 in Chinook,MT.
