On 7 July 1654 Edward Godfrey of York, gentleman, gave toRichard Burgess of York forty acres of upland [YLR 1:117]. On 7July 1654 Edward Godfrey of York, gentleman, sold forty acres ofupland to Mr. Henry Norton of York.Henry Norton was marshal of New York in 1653. He and his wifeMargaret witnessed a deed on 13 Nov 1651. He returned to Englandin 1657. See court files cited in Maine Recorder, vol. 4, p. 60.
