Lydia Devol is reputed to have married Barnabas Hargel (Hargill)of Newport, RI. Barnabas and wife Lydia in 1770 conveyedproperty in a deed (badly damaged) to Joseph and ChristopherHargell, and on 15 Dec 1770 Christopher and Joseph Hargellentered into an indenture with Barnabas with one legiblestipulation "to protect Barnabas from poverty".
