Narrative

Richard Bartlett, Sr. brought with him from Wiltshire, England,in the ship "Mary and John" in 1635, a copy of the BreechesBible, which has been carefully preserved in the family, and wasexhibited by Miss Elizabeth Hoyt of Chelsea, Mass. at thecelebration of the 250th anniversary of the settlement ofNewbury, 10 June 1885. From the original written records in thisold Bible, and the additional information supplied by theGenealogical Register, April 1886, it is evident that thechildren of Richard Bartlett, Sr. at the time of his emmigrationto America were as follows, Richard, Sr. d. 25 May 1647. He wasa shoemaker.Joanna b. 29 Jan 1610; m. William TitcombJohn b. 9 Nov 1613; m.
